When I was asked to review the Glade Sense & Spray I thought it was going to be another one of those air fresheners that overpower the room with scent for a few days then seem to disappear.

I decided to try the Sense & Spray in my home office. Since my two dogs spend a lot of time in that room with me it can occasionally smell a little doggy - especially when Bandit has one of his "gassy" episodes.

The unit was easy to set up. You just lift the front cover and put the refill cannister inside then press lightly until you hear the cannister snap into place. Before closing the front cover be sure to remove the red tab to activate the batteries. I like that it's battery operated and doesn't tie up one of my electrical outlets.

If you're not familiar with this product here's some details of how it works.

It automatically sprays fragrance when a shadow has been cast upon the sensor. When it's in "active mode" and ready to detect motion a small light on the front blinks every 5 seconds. Once it sprays the unit automatically enters a 30-minutes lock-out mode to conserve the refill. A solid (rather than blinking) light indicates the lock-out mode.

To override the lock-out mode - or in extreme cases like a "gassy" dog - you can press the boost button on the front of the unit. For best results you should follow the placement instructions on the back of the box.

Since strong scents in a lot of air fresheners have a tendency to cause me allergy problems I placed the unit on a bookshelf in the back corner of the room. As I walked away there was a short burst of spray. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a light, fresh scent of Apple Cinnamon.

We had some bad storms the night I set it up and I was focused on following the weather reports so I pretty much forgot about the unit sitting over there in the corner. The next morning I walked into the room and heard a quiet "whoosh". I looked around to see what the dogs were getting into - then realized it was just the Sense and Spray freshening up the office.

The unit has been doing it's freshening for about two weeks now and I can really tell a difference in the room. I get a whiff of Apple Cinnamon when it sprays - but the rest of the time it just smells fresh and clean in the office.

I really like this product and give it 5 out of 5 Piggy Points.
